Cupping & Gua Sha

Ancient, Hands on Healing Techniques

Cupping and Gua Sha are ancient healing therapies used by many cultures around the world. Cupping involves the placement of glass or plastic suctioned cups over the skin. Gua sha is the deep rubbing along the skin using a spoon or flat edged object. They both address stagnation (stuck blood, fluids, tissue) pain, tension, stress and pouches along the skin. Their use improves circulation, moves stagnation and releases bodily tension.  Some people refer to them as a form of deep tissue massage.  Reddish marks often appear after a session and can take 2-5 days to clear.  Both can be used alone or in conjunction with other therapies.
