Prays for Peace & Freedom

As we celebrate the joy and blessings of the year past, I also want to acknowledge the sadness & confusion I feel by the war between Palestine & Israel and the horrific way humans are being treated; by the oppression of all people, including Palestinians; by the war & genocide also happening in Sudan that gets little attention; by the secret 2022 genocide in Tigray, Ethiopia on black bodies; by the war the continues in Ukraine and so much more. I am happy to see people fight for their liberation.

Looking inward and to other healers for answers, I am reminded that darkness cannot exist without light and encourage us all to tap into the light within us; look for the light in others, and go toward the light in our lives. This does not mean we cannot take action but take action without hate.

I also am reminded that we are witnessing trauma being re-triggered and re-created. Unresolved trauma wreaks havoc on the body-mind-spirit; it does not allow us to see and feel clearly. Many of us have personal & ancestral trauma that we cannot always name but we feel – consciously & unconsciously. Becoming aware of our triggers & trauma may help us stop before we act or respond. When we work on ourselves at deep levels, we are able to connect to the light of God within us and stop re-creating more trauma for ourselves & others.

We the people are not the government and if we can remember this, maybe we can be kinder to each other and be a beacon of light in our communities.

PRAY FOR PEACE & FREEDOM

(Excerpt from the a prayer by Sunder Ashni, Mumbet’s Freedom Farm)

Creator, Creation, Universe

May we be gentle, curious and kind to ourselves and each other.

May we release delusion and fantasy and embrace the extra ordinary miracle it is to be alive on earth.

May we release capital gains and increase gains of love, expanding our heart’s gently and with care.

May we remember that we are all related, every plant, tree, flower, bird, insect, body of water, body of another related.

May we be kind.

May I be safe, happy, free and at peace.

May all beings be safe, happy, free and at peace.

Food has the power to either weigh us down, leaving us feeling stagnant and stuck, or to uplift us, bringing lightness to both body and spirit. By being intentional with what we eat, we can raise our vibration and align more deeply with the energy of the seasons.

Winter: A Time to Restore You Life Source Energy

In Chinese Medicine, winter is seen as a season of introspection and restoration—a time to align with nature’s rhythm of slowing down and conserving energy. Just as the earth rests and renews beneath the surface during the colder months, we too are encouraged to embrace stillness and focus on replenishing our vital energy.

Winter Solstice Medicine: Ease Amidst The Holidays

One of the things I deeply love about Eastern Medicine is its wisdom in guiding us towards healthier, more balanced lives—drawing inspiration and lessons directly from nature itself. Each season offers us a unique lesson, and winter teaches us to embrace stillness and introspection. The Winter Solstice marks a pivotal shift in the earth’s energy. As the longest night of the year, it gently invites us to slow down and align with its quiet stillness.

Lung Benefiting Fall Recipe

Pears benefit the Lung in Chinese medicine by adding moisture. As Autumn is consider the Metal season, known for being drying, we want to add moisture through the nourishment we take in. Pears are said to have a sour & sweet flavor which tonifies (builds & supports) yin through the lung, stomach and spleen. Pears counteract heat and resolve phlegm. Although the roasting action is drying, this is offset by pear’s temperature in TCM which is considered cool.
