Liver 2 – XiangJian – Walk Between

In Chinese Medicine, the Liver is known as the official in charge of planning—helping us move through life with clarity, flexibility, and purpose. But when Liver Qi becomes stuck, our path can feel blocked; obstacles feel like boulders. Emotions like frustration, irritability, and even rage may arise, signaling a need to restore flow. Over time, the over expression or under-expression of upset creates emotional heat. Symptoms like red eyes, headaches, dizziness, and abnormal bleeding (nose, vaginal, cough) can arise.

Enter Liver 2 – Walk Between – a powerful Acupuncture point that awakens the  ability to “walk around” or “walk between” challenges that feel like mountains. It supports emotional balance and clears internal heat that builds when we’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck.  On the top of the foot, between the first and second toes, this point is known for its ability to soothe rising heat and restore a sense of ease.

As the fire point on the Liver meridian, it not only clears heat but can also bring joy, warmth, and compassion into the act of planning. Think of it as a spark that reignites creativity and optimism when the road ahead feels uncertain.

When Liver energy is healthy and flowing, we can more easily “walk between the boulders” of life, adapting with grace instead of resistance.

You can use Acupuncture points at home via Acupressure. Gently press into Liver 2 for a few moments, take deep breaths, and repeat a few times. This is a simple yet powerful way to reconnect with that ease during times of tension and stress; whenever you are feeling challenged by life’s obstacles you can bring in positive warmth and flexibility.

Try it this week—pause, breathe, and give Liver 2 a little attention. Your body—and your plans—just might thank you.
